My name is Aphrodite I sit up here with all the other gods and goddess watching over Odysseus' journey back home to Ithica. Right now I would like to put myself into Poseidon's shoes and wonder what must of been going through his mind. To find out that this warrior blinded his son and then mocked him, he is a near mortal and he decides to treat the gods like that. I would of made Zeus banish him to a far off place where there was no sign of life. Or even kill him for he hurt my dear son. Why was this man called Odysseus ever forgiven?
I know that I am the goddess of love and I should be trying to convince everyone to get along and not fight. But, when it comes to the matter of the gods, no man under Zeus is safe as long as I am still around. I could make sure that his wife never wanted him ever again. I could make her fall in love with one of the suitors at her palace at this very moment in time. But, I won't. That won't give the satisfaction that everyone desires. Killing him wouldn't either. Because then he would never suffer and feel the pain that every god has been feeling right about now. But how to make him suffer is the question that everyone has been thinking about lately. We toke away his men, made him find his wife with hundreds of other men trying to court her, and yet nothing seems to effect him even the slightest bit. Sure he did get angry when he heard about his wife and yes he did kill all of the men. But that wasn't suffering at all! He needs to pay for what he has done. And the sooner the better!
Eat his cattle! Blind his son! Make him feel what we all are feeling right now! Odysseus should not of blinded Polyphemus and he should of not of let his men eat Helios' cattle. Do what he did to us to him. Yes! That could work. Make him feel the pain and the suffering that we all endured. Make him pay the price for what he has already done. That Odysseus is surely going to get what is coming for him and I will make sure of that!
